Avery Tolar

Four Iron
At first, you're tempted to do the Avery-missions early in the game. However, I tend to wait until I have completed the "Phnom Penh '86"-mission for Riccardo Diaz. This will give you access to a helicopter, and therefore, you won't have to check all your weapons at the entrance to the golf club. This will give you a wide variety of assassination methods once inside the golf club :-).

Go get the goofy golf clothes in your helicopter, and then land right outside the golf club. Enter the pink marker and then get back into the heli. Now fly to the driving range and land on the green next to it. The four guys in suits and the fifth guy in the golf cart are all bodyguards for your mark. They'll start chasing you once you do something nasty or get too close to your mark. If there are any available golf carts, your mark will get into it and try to escape. However, if there are NO golf carts available, you can easily chase him on foot. You can get rid of the golf carts at the driving range by pushing them into the water (make sure you sprint in order to give them a sufficient push) or by using weapons. However, the latter will trigger his escape and the guards chasing you. You can also take out your mark with the sniper rifle, which will end the mission immediately. However, I usually get rid of the golf carts first, then take out the guy in the golf cart by sniper rifle, then blast the remaining guards away with a few well placed shotgun blasts. Now you can take out your target any way you please. I prefer chasing him down and beat him to death with my bare hands :-).

Alternate ways:
1. Pass the metal detector and leave all your weapons outside. Grab the golf club just inside the gate and beat the crap out of everybody with it.
2. Same as above but do NOT pick up the golf club. Now go there and use your bare hands to beat up everybody. Be careful about the guard in the golf cart. He'll try to run your over.

Demolition Man
This is definitely the most asked about mission of Vice City, and the question is always the same: "Is there an easier way around this [foul language deleted] mission?". The answer is simple: no, there are no easy ways here! There's no simple way of getting the dynamite in place and there are no holes in the building which you can use as a shortcut. The first few times you try this mission, it is VERY difficult to fly the helicopter and you'll simply have to learn. Sorry!

Don't worry, though. Once you get the hang of controlling helicopters in Vice City, you'll navigate the RC helicopter with ease, trust me. Nowadays, I have no trouble finishing this mission with about 2:30 left on the clock, so just hang in there, mate. There are two golden rules to observe when doing this mission.

1. Start with the bottom dynamite slot and work your way up.
2. Take out everything that moves with your propellers (which also requires skill), especially the guards in blue (because they pack a hand gun).

Two Bit Hit
A Gatling gun (mini gun) is recommended here. Once you're changed into Cuban colours, go to Auntie Poulet's house, go west to the wall and run along around the back of the pizza shop. Take the first alleyway to the right, and approach until is says "Great. They've spotted you". Now, there are two ways you can do this:

  1. First, you can whip out the mini gun and blast away out everything in sight as quckly as possible, especially the hearse that will try to get away, since the gang lord is in there. When done, exit Little Haiti.
  2. However, if you want to keep a Romero's Hearse and the Black Voodo, see Souvenirs.

Reward: Umberto Robina will call you and enable you to do missions for him.
